Supernatural: Wolfie not so wolfy; the hunter who is
hunted(12)
Written by Winnie Su
The phone rings just as Luna walks out of the forest, wiping
blood that stained her fingers away with a paper napkin.
Luna fishes out her phone from her pocket and glances down to
the screen. “Hey, Dean. What’s up?” She greets as she finds a public washroom
to wash her hands properly.
“Hey. Where are you? I thought you were drunk” Dean asks from
the other end.
“I was hungry. Went out for a bite.” She replies and turns the
water tab on.
“Oh, okay. Come back soon, I think we’ve found the wolf pack and
the vamps’ nest.” Dean says.
With the mention of the wolf pack, Luna straightens up quickly.
“Are you sure?” She asks suspiciously.
“One hundred percent. Finish up, we are leaving soon.”
“I’m on my way.” Luna promises and hangs up the phone.

The three hunters climb out of the Impala after Dean parks it
close to a warehouse.
Luna eagerly takes the lead and marches toward the
warehouse, hatred and adrenaline pumping in her veins. She pauses at the door
for a second and tries to gather herself. She has waited for so long for this
moment.
Luna turns the doorknob slowly and silently to open the metal
door. She pulls out her gun filled with silver bullets and a pure silver knife.
She takes a deep breath as soon as she enters the warehouse.
They were right.
Some werewolves were here. The scent is fainter now, but they were here. Luna notes. They shouldn’t have gone far.
Luna takes a few steps into the huge abandoned warehouse and
inspects the area carefully.
“Let’s split up,” Luna says and turns around to face the
brothers. “We’ll…” She trails off sharply with a gasp.
Dean stares at her coldly right into her eyes with his gun
pointed at her chest, aiming for her heart.
Luna’s eyes are wide in shock as they flicker in between the
brothers. Sam looks betrayed while Dean looks like Luna is just another monster
for them to hunt.
“What do you think you are doing?” She gasps and tries to back
away from the gun, but Dean follows her closely, his aim not moving an inch
away from its target.
“You are not human.” The words come out like venom from Dean’s
mouth.
Luna forces up a smile and chuckles awkwardly. “Wow, Dean,
you’re talking like the chick in Twilight! What are you talking about?”
“Your strength is enough to throw a grown man who’s three times
bigger than you across the room, Luna, not to mention your reflexes.” Sam says
with disappointment.
“Please let me explain…” Luna begs. But Dean ignores her and
continues after his brother,
“And the cut on your hand? We went back to ask Elianne’s mom. It
turns out the frame is made out of silver. And guess what? We followed you
after you left in the morning. We saw you eating a heart, Luna!” Dean confronts
her.
“It’s not like what you think…”
“Do you think I care?” Dean shoots back and clicks the safe on
his gun. “You are a monster.”
“Wait!” Luna steps away from the brother and slowly bends down.
“I am going to put my gun down, okay? Please let me explain.”
Dean doesn’t even blink once as Luna set her weapons down. Her
eyes apologetic to the men in front of her as she confesses, “You are right. I
am a werewolf.”
Dean snorts with an “I knew it” expression on his face. Sam
looks sad and stares back at her.
“But I am not the one who is killing people.” Luna declares.
“The heart that you saw me eating was not a human heart. I didn’t kill
anybody.”
“And you expect me to believe that?” Dean snickers.
Luna laughs dryly and says, “No, I don’t, actually, but…” She
trails off abruptly as she sniffs the air.
“But what?” Dean demands.
“We have to leave, now!” Luna says quickly and bends down to
retrieve her weapons, but Dean’s stops her mid-way with his gun. “Put your gun down,
Dean, and run, right now, as far as you can.”
“Why should I listen to you?” Dean asks. Luna was getting
impatient. She grabs the gun and pulls Dean’s arm then turn it into the
opposite direction to point the weapon toward Dean’s own chest, causing Dean to
lose his grip on his gun in pain. Luna shoves the gun back to Dean’s chest,
making him stumble slightly backwards with her great force.
“Because my senses are much better than you, Dean.” Luna hisses
and pushes the brothers toward the door. “This is not just a random warehouse.
I have no idea how your stupid luck works, but this is where the
werewolf pack is located. They are coming back right now and we are way out
numbered. Now run when you still have a chance.”
Dean starts to become confused. The werewolf is supposed to be a
monster, not warning them to escape.
“Then what about you?” Sam asks and stands stubbornly in place
as Luna grabs his shoulder.
“I’ll distract them and hold them off. You guys run and call
some hunters if they are around for back up.”
“But then you will be killed for sure.” Dean realizes what the
girl is planning.
“Please, guys, I will buy you enough time to escape. If I get
out of here alive, I will meet you back at the motel.”
It doesn’t matter for a moment to Dean if Luna is a monster or
not. His hunter instinct is screaming at him not to leave anyone behind. “No.
You are coming with us.” Dean is as stubborn as Sam.
“You don’t understand, Dean. It’s me that they want. If I go
with you, or you stay here, you will get killed, too.” Luna says through
gritted teeth, looking behind her shoulder. “They are getting closer.” She
murmurs, and then turns back to the brothers. “This is my only chance of
revenge. You are only going to drag me down. Go!”
“You should’ve listened to her.” A voice echoes in the
warehouse, followed by a woman’s ragged breathing and small cries.
